The Thursday Instagram Challenge: “Costume Time”

Winner of the Week 4 “Postcards” challenge was “Deep Creek Lake” by Jim Havard. You can follow him on Instagram at @jimhavard.

Editor’s update: We’re moving the deadline for submissions back to Sunday at 9 p.m. to allow for any photos you take during Halloween or Day of the Dead festivities.

The theme for our week 5 challenge is “Costume Time.”  Show us an image of someone in a costume. It can be someone in their Halloween outfit or a cosplayer portraying a comic or fantasy character. It can be a new photo that you take specifically for this week’s challenge or something from your Instagram archives. All you need is the URL to the image you want to enter (see the screen shot at the bottom of the page for additional instructions).

You can enter up to three images. We’ll accept submissions until Saturday at 5 p.m. Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, at which time readers will be allowed to vote on their five favorite images.

Voting will be open until noon the following Wednesday when a weekly “winner” will be declared. Weekly winners will get their Instagram account promoted on our front page and will have their winning photo featured at the top of the next Thursday Challenge.

The top five vote getters in each weekly challenge will be entered into a quarterly random drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card. (Click here for more information on our weekly challenges and quarterly drawings.) Last week’s challenge was “Postcards.”
