DC Jazz Festival brings bands — big and small — to all corners of the city

If you’re a jazz aficionado, this is the week when DC becomes your playground. The DC Jazz Festival is in full swing at more than 40 venues across the Distric. The main attractions, however, will be taking the stage at The Yards on Friday and Saturday, and at The Hamilton Live every night through June 16. Kicking things off Wednesday night at The Hamilton Live was John Scofield and his Uberband Jam, featuring Andy Hess (formerly of Gov’t Mule and the Black Crows), guitarist Avi Bortnick, and drummer Tony Mason.
