Folklife Festival Puts Spotlight on Peruvian Culture

Folklife3-MJ

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is back and this year’s theme is Perú: Pachamama. To the indigenous people of the Andes, Pachamama is the earth mother, and the festival highlights all that the earth provides to this culturally rich region. Musical performances, arts, crafts, food, and even a rope bridge extending across the Mall, are on the agenda. The festival is on hiatus early this week and will resume on Wednesday, July 1.
